Admission of international students
International students can be admitted to Imam Khomeini International University (RA) in the following four ways
  1. Islamic Republic of Iran government scholarship
This type of scholarship includes candidates who, while having the conditions approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, their case is presented in the Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and after acceptance, they are introduced to the university with a letter from the Ministry of Science to continue their education. There are two types of scholarships of the Islamic Republic of Iran government: with the payment of a scholarship (a) and without the payment of a scholarship (b). In the type A scholarship, the student, in addition to free education, also enjoys facilities such as receiving a scholarship, and in the type B scholarship, the student studies for free without receiving a scholarship.
  1. National exam
In this type of admission, it is possible for non-Iranian nationals residing in the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue their education based on the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Interior contained in the nationwide examination manual of the National Education Evaluation Organization, and international applicants based on the Ministry's annual notification. They will be obliged to pay a part of the tuition for the second (night) session of Iranian students.
  1. University Scholarship
In order to fulfill its international mission, Imam Khomeini International University offers various scholarships for those talented non-Iranian nationals who meet the conditions for university scholarship according to the university's international student admission policy.
  1. Non- Scholarship
Applicants who do not qualify for scholarship admission and wish to continue their education at their own expense are subject to this type of admission and are required to pay educational and welfare fees approved by the university's board of trustees for each academic semester.
General Conditions
  1. Not having the citizenship of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
  2. Not having a legal prohibition to continue studying and not having a prohibition to stay in Iran.
  3. Presenting a valid certificate of physical health (not having contagious and incurable diseases) and mental health that has been approved by the political or consular representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the student's home country or the accredited medical centers of the university.
Required conditions
  1. Having a minimum certificate equivalent to the completion of one of the common academic courses in Iran such as: pre-university (12 years of formal education), associate degree, bachelor's degree and master's degree, respectively, to enter the bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree programs.
  2. If the applicant has completed whose previous education in a country other than Iran, he or she must translate all the academic documents and transcripts into English or Arabic by an official translation agency and send them to the Iranian embassy in the respective country for approval.
Note1: Educational certificates issued from Afghanistan must be approved by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, as well as the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul.
Note 2: The necessity and time of obtaining a Persian language teaching certificate for university applicants is subject to the rules and regulations announced by the Iran Ministry of Science.
  1.  The initial admission of doctoral degree applicants after the approval of the admissions council will depend on the success of the scientific interview by the relevant group.
Note 3: Applicants for post-doctoral research courses are accepted based on the relevant regulations and in the fields open in the university.
Admission Process:
  1. Initial acceptance
    1. After registering the applicant in the international student admission system at http://admission.ikiu.ac.ir/, the applicant's application will be reviewed by the university admission council and the result will be notified to the candidate via email.
    2. After receiving the initial admission, in order to finalize the registration, the accepted ones must register their information in the Saorg system of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (Saorg) and receive the tracking code in the name of Imam Khomeini International University.
    3. The applicant should apply for a study visa through the consular affairs department of the university after receiving the unobstructed study code through the Saurg system.
    4. After issuing the study visa, the consular affairs department of the university should inform the student to obtain the study visa from the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the respective country.
Note 4: Accepted students should immediately go to the consular affairs department of the university to do the things related to the academic residence after obtaining the study visa. The consequences of not attending are the responsibility of the student
Note 5: Initial acceptance does not mean definitive enrollment and does not create a right for candidates to study at the university.
  1. Definite acceptance
After submitting study visas to the Consular Affairs Department of the University, the accepted ones are introduced to the University Education Vice-Chancellor by the Vice-Chancellor of International Affairs for final registration.
             Note 6: International students will be subject to the educational and cultural rules and       regulations of Iranian students after their final enrollment and entry into the field.
             Note 7: It is mandatory to present the original approved academic documents of the previous academic level at the time of final registration.

Necessary documents
Non-Iranian applicants to study at Imam Khomeini International University (RA), while referring to the university's electronic admission system for international students and registering their admission application in the system, are required to submit the following documents. It is obvious that it is mandatory to present the certified originals of the documents during the final registration.
  1. Picture of the last educational certificate.
  2. Picture of all the scores
Note: Educational documents, including diplomas and scores of candidates who have studied in non-Iranian educational centers, must be approved by the political or consular offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the candidate's home country.
  1. Color photo of passport valid for at least six months.
  2. Academic recommendation letters from two professors of the last academic year. (specially for PhD applicants)
  3.  Medical certificate of health against infectious and contagious diseases, including AIDS, hepatitis and non-drug addiction.
  4.  New 4x3 photo with white background.
Note 9: The fee for the documents' checking will be collected from the candidate after entering Iran.
Education and residence conditions
Educational conditions of studying in the Persian language education center
  1. The training courses of the center include two general Persian courses and additional Persian courses.
  2. Each regular training course of the center lasts 16 weeks.
  3. The training courses of the Persian language training center are 100% free for students who are eligible for full and educational scholarships.
  4. Holders of educational certificates issued by other Persian language training centers approved by the Iran Higher Education Ministry do not need to participate in the courses of the Persian language training center.
  5. If the applicants pass the level determination test, they can enter the supplementary course without passing the general Persian course.

Tuition fees
Education fees
  1. International students who are subject to the payment of tuition fees are required to pay tuition fees in each academic semester, depending on the type of field and level of study accepted.
  2. University tuition fees are based on the currency of the European Union (Euro), which can be calculated as Rial equivalent for students who pay their tuition fees in Iran.
  3.  The criterion for calculating the rial equivalent of the euro is the euro rate of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is available on the central bank's website at http://www.cbi.ir.
  4. The amount of fixed tuition is 50% of the total tuition for one semester.
  5. The tuition fees of each student during the study period are calculated based on the tuition fees of the year of entry.
  6. The tuition fees of scholarship students who have completed their permitted years of study will be calculated based on the approved rate per semester.
Note 1: Language learners who were accepted by scholarship are exempted from paying the tuition fees of the Persian language education center, but in case of failure in any of the courses and courses, they are subject to the payment of tuition fees.
Welfare fees
7- The students of educational scholarships and non-scholarships of the university are obliged to pay welfare fees if they use the welfare services of the university.
Note 2: Students who wish to use the welfare services of the university, after the final registration, refer to the student affairs of the university and apply for each of the welfare services.
Note 3: It is possible to provide dormitories to students if there is capacity.
Note 4: Priority will be given to students who do not have a residence history in Iran.
Note 5: All non-Iranian students can benefit from the university facilities by using their student card.
