Imam Khomeini International University (IKIU) entered the field of higher education in Iran in 1991 as the only and first international State university approved by the Iranian parliament.

The university totally has more than 100 specialized educational and research laboratories, some of which are equipped with very precise, advanced instruments and devices that are unique in the region and country. Furthermore, workshops, farms and research greenhouses as well as observatory are other educational and research facilities that the university has provided for professors, students and researchers.

Imam Khomeini International University(IKIU) as the first international state University in Iran with the most developing Persian Language Learning Centre, welcoming Non- Iranian students from any country worldwide.
